Bob,

Changing C22 will not change anything in the K2 dynamically, it only changes the frequency of the 4 MHz reference oscillator. The reference oscillator is only used for calibration during a run of CAL PLL and CAL FIL.

You must do more - you must make the K2 enter new values in the EEPROM before any of the K2 frequency display changes - here is how to do that.

After accurately setting the 4 MHz reference oscillator, run CAL PLL to completion, and then run CAL FIL - you must cycle through EACH of the BFO settings for each of the modes (USB, LSB, CW, CWr and if set on also RTTY and RTTYr). For each BFO, make note of the current setting, then change it up or down and then set it back to whatever it was to start with - the 'change' will force the new DAC values to be entered into EEPROM, sorry, but there is no global way to do this EEPROM write, it must be forced for each BFO, but it only takes a short time to cycle through all of them.

After you have completed those steps, your K2 dial should read correctly.

Last weekend, I made some ssb contacts in the WPX contest and all was well. Good signal reports and my audio was reported in good shape as well. Then on Tuesday I attempted to check in to a local 80 meter net and after several attempts with no responders. A guy comes on and says, "Hey K6GGO, your 500 Hertz high, check your RIT". Well, I checked my RIT and my XIT and they were both off. So after messing with this thing all week I am throwing up my hands and asking for help.Here is the data I've collected:

1) I performed Wayne's procedure for adjusting the 4 mhz master oscillator (C22). After I adjusted C22, I zero beat WWV and the display reads 10000.53

2) I measured the output frequency of the transmitter with my frequency counter and it matches the displayed frequency.

3) Last night I quickly went through the Pll reference oscillator range test, VCO test, VCO alignment, BFO test, and then ran the VFO linearization. Still no Joy!

4) Both the xit and rit appear to be working normally and are off.

5) Both VFO's are set for the same frequency and are not set for split operation.

Its as if the receiver and the transmitter are operating on different frequecies 500 hz apart (receiver lower) and the display shows only the transmitter frequeny.
I hope this makes sense!
This is probably going to be a button or something in the wrong position causing me endless embarassment.

What do you guys think?
