Here are some photos of tonight's work. I spent about 4 or 5 hours this
evening on part 2 of the assembly (disturbed by dinner and a walk with
my fiancee).

Things appear to be working well. Unfortunately, it was too dark to go
outside and hook her up to the antenna receiver testing (I don't have an
indoors antenna connection).
The relays are clicking when I switch from 7kHz to 14kHz, I can key with
my paddles, I can change the sidetone volume and frequency and keyer
speed...and best of all, I don't smell any electronics burning. Yea!
Don't know how much more I'll get done this week. I hope to finish the
transceiver this weekend though.
For those of you who are wondering, I decided to go ahead and build the
KX1 without the mods required for the KXB3080 with one exception. I went
ahead and installed L6 on the "wrong side" of the KX1 PCB. I read
through the instructions for the KXB3080 and noticed that this was
required of it. I figured...L6 is going to be in the same holes, just on
the opposite side of the board, so why not go ahead and put it there?
And, for those of you concerned about me blowing my PA final by
installing the KX1PWRMODKIT, I'm going to wait and see what happens with
my RF out before installing it.
See ya.
