Try PSK - it's humming, I see stations at least 8,000 km away almost every day. I'm using a TS-480SAT and a trapped dipole under the roof.

Otherwise I agree - in 32 years creating QRM I've never experienced such a poor year, I guess it's global warming making the MUF melt sooner.

I don't understand the stress factor here.  The bands are in such dreadful
shape (at least from here in Germany) that you can turn on your radio (mine
are an FT-1000MP MkV and a K2) and you think the receivers are dead.
