The Elecraft reflector also shows signs of some discontent amongst those who ordered, quite early, and have yet to receive theirs. The
biggest "gripe" is the lack of timely information on shipping status and exactly what is going on. The last update from Wayne and Eric at the website was on 18 October. The Shipping Status page indicates that the first K3(s) shipped on 9 October and there would be a slow ramp-up with first production run units to be shipped in the "next 4 to 5 weeks." In deference to the gang in Aptos, this is a huge undertaking. My guess is that response far exceeded anyone's expectations. My order, which was placed mid-May, was right smack in the middle of the cutover from the 1st to 2nd production run. Lisa told me that she "saved a spot" for me in the first run. that I got in right under the wire. yet, in a subsequent communication, she indicated that I was in the 2nd run. To sum up, watching the reflector posts and seeing a lack of regular (weekly) updates, my guess is that I will be extremely lucky to see my K3 prior to Thanksgiving. At this rate, a Christmas delivery may even be somewhat "optimistic".
