what optional filters should be ordered for this rig? I work SSB mainly, and some CW. And neither in contest situations really. I was thinking about the 250 and 500 Hz CW filters, as well as the 2.8Khz SSB. What do some of you K3 owners think about this? What are your recommendations?

For regular SSB work, the standard 2.7 kHz filter should be fine. The jury is still out on whether the 8-pole 2.8 is worth the extra money.

For CW, you should have the 500 or 400 (same caveat about the more expensive 8-pole version).

I have found the 1 kHz filter very useful for CW, because I like to listen with a wider bandwidth.

Probably only serious digital guys need the 250. Remember that you can narrow the bandwidth with the DSP, and the filters are only used to protect the DSP from signals greater than about S9+30.

This is all just MY OPINION and others may disagree!
