Good Evening, Today was wonderful here on the mountain. I had a constant stream of tourists trying their 4WD vehicles in the last of the snow. Some gave up, some made their way further and got stuck, some made it all the way back down the mountain without assistance. They all had fun. Temperature got to 50 F while the snow melted rapidly. I've only got 12 inches left but I can see the lawn in places. My sister tells me her flowers are about to start blooming but she is six weeks ahead of me down in Vancouver, WA. I was able to stake out a spot on 20 meters and ran the net for twelve minutes. Luckily I was not skunked because Pete found me early and gave me a call. Then, I am sure, he went back to the fray and worked a few new ones. Twenty was wall to wall contesters. Maybe next year I will try that one and see who I can work. The bands will be just a little better then. But, today they were not too bad. I worked into NY and NC without assistance. Kent was on the road so could not help and Tom was probably recovering from too much contesting.
On to the lists => On 14055 kHz at 2300z: W6ZH - Pete - CA - K2 - 5138 On 7045.50 kHz at 0100z: W6ZH - Pete - CA - K2 - 5138 KL7CW - Rick - AK - KX1 - 798 N0AR - Scott - MN - K2 - 4866 K9ZTV - Kent - KY - ? - mobile W0JFR - John - CO - K2 - 4507 AB9V - Mike - IN - K3 - 398 N9IV - Russ - IN - K2 - 4650 N7KRT - Jeff - NV - K2 - 5471 W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031 ** QNI #210 ** K6PJV - Dale - CA - K2 - 5345 WB5BKL - Nick - TX - K3 - 231 N2YC - John - NY - K2 - 5949 K3OOL - Craig - PA - K2 - 4790 K2HYD - Ray - NC - KX1 - 608 * QNI #110 * I am fairly sure I did not miss any numbers but if I did please send me a note. QSB was strong on 40 meters; in many cases it was a flutter so an I would become an E and a 5 would change to an H. However, I did drag both WB5BKL and K2HYD out of the noise on the QSB peaks. N2YC was quite strong even without its help. The strong signal award must go to K6PJV; I was about to check my driveway! I want to get back to writing some code so have a great week. I will see you all again next Sunday. 73, Kevin.
