I have an Orion II. The receiver has a lot of hiss. However it does have good selectivity and filtering. It will go up for sale when the K3, ordered in Late October, arrives. After owning several Drake, Kenwood and Yaesu rigs I found it to be the noisiest of them all. A test comparing my R7 RX with the Orion RX revealed the R7 MDS to be just a tad better than the Orion II.
