HRD is primarily rig control and PowerSDR is a DSP program for SDRs. WU2X
wrote a version of PowerSDR-IF that will operate on the K3's IF via LP-PAN.
However it requires HRD for rig control, so you actually run both
simultaneously. Eventually N8LP will publish LP-Bridge which will allow
PowerSDR to directly control the K3.

For background on the LP-PAN:

To run any of the SDR programs (PowerSDR, CW Skimmer, Winrad) on the K3, you
need the following:
KXV3 > LP-PAN > Sound Card > Computer > DSP software.
The specifics of the sound card and computer required vary depending on the
speed and resolution needed.
