Is there any benefit in using such a narrow flter for PSK? The DSP decoder is only looking at the actual band of frequencies containing the signal so it is, in effect, a narrow band filter already. The only possible benefit I can see is if a strong close-in signal is activating AGC causing the weak one to be depressed into the noise, but if it is that close IMD products from the strong signal are probably going to make decoding the weak one a lost cause anyway. ----- Julian, G4ILO K3 s/n: 222 K2 s/n: 392 G4ILO's Shack: www.g4ilo.com KComm for K2/K3: www.g4ilo.com/kcomm.html -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/2.13-beta-tp18272120p18274627.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
