My guess is that you are attempting to use the same utility as is used with full release firmware. That won't work. Why not look at the download page again and be sure you are following the right procedure for beta firmware. And be sure that your com port is working and is not tied up with another program. Might be a good idea to re-boot your computer just before you attempt the down load to be sure the com port is cleared.
