Hi Tom, Everyone will answer that question differently dependent on which feature set is most important to them and what hardware they have installed in their K3. Have a look at:
ftp://ftp.elecraft.com/K3/firmware/beta/hfwnotes.rtf >From these notes, you can determine which release has the features that are important to you. I keep all previous 'known' firmware releases on my hard drive in separate folders and also download the latest beta release. This allows me to experiment with the latest, whilst having a known version to fall back on. This method takes all 'risk' out of the equation and allows you to contribute to firmware development. At the moment my 'known' release is V2.23 which I have played with for a couple of weeks without problems and would recommend for a basic K3. There have been a flurry of releases recently introducing new firmware and fixing old bugs which seems to be coming to a head before formal release (currently V2.34). I wouldn't bother with the current latest formal release (V2.02) as it seems to be completely out of date.
