1.  For tuning the same band you are CQing on.  During the short listen
times between your CQs, you can find unworked stations in other parts of the
same band.

2.  For diversity reception, running a different antennas into the two
receivers.

3.  For simultaneously listening to the transmit and receive frequencies of
a split operation.

The best way to simultaneously work on another band is to use a second
radio.  Different band operation with the two K3 receivers is a planned
enhancement for the future.
