Weird.... Had the VOX gain at 60, changed it to 40 and it's OK now. Set it to 100 and it's still OK.

What's weird is that there was no mic connected when it was acting up. I had also unplugged everything except 12V power and a dummy load and it failed every time.

Seems that simply changing VOX gain did the trick.

It's not 4/1/2009 already is it???

How high is your VOX setting?

S/N 00929 /w FW 2.76, 6.0 kHz filter. Confirmed TX on switch from DATA to
AM when VOX on. Getting typical AM carrier output for about 1 second.
Happens from either front panel mode change or PC control (two different
programs).

Happens from DATA to AM and DATAR to AM (I tried all combinations xx to AM
via PC control).

Also occurs /w 6.0 kHz filter disabled, and on any band.

I THINK I spotted ERR ??? once on VFO B display but vy intermittent - could
(should) not have been END as I was mid-point on all the bands.

This has been around a long time... I went back to FW 1.96 (oldest I have) &
it happens there!

Hi Joe:

Consider the possibility of it being the software program you are running
on your PC in DATA mode. Quit the program first then switch to AM.

It's frequently a safe bet to blame the computer for anything that goes
wrong.
