Good Evening, Twenty meters was weak while forty meters was noisy. This has become standard lately. But we had a good number of check ins. When I passed the net to Tom he must have turned on some power because I could not get my phones off my ears fast enough. I think my ear drums touched each other at one point! By the time he passed control back to me I had recovered but it was tough to follow the stations and Tom at the same time. I put one phone over my most deaf ear to mute him but left the gain where it was. Luckily my sinuses had closed due to the recent rain and cold weather or my ears would still be ringing. But the same sinuses gave me a slight headache all day long. Digging out weak signals with a headache is always challenging. I am glad this one was not too bad. Next I made and ate dinner but found myself wondering about my methods. How many of you put cayenne pepper on jalapenos? I have been working on a new recipe lately and once it is perfected I may not need a fire during the summer months :) Now if only I could get a bag of freshly roasted green chilis from Hatch, New Mexico. Green chilis and fresh tortillas were a good portion of my diet while attending UNM. When Pat was able to move down to Albuquerque she would leaven my diet with hot Thai food. We were constantly trying new types of peppers. By the time we left we both had cravings for habanero peppers. No wonder the jalapenos needed some hot pepper to give them a little kick!

Someone was getting a strong thunderstorm so whole characters were gone at some points. But, due to the rain currently falling along with high winds I was not able to take a walk after the net. I did walk out on the deck and smell the breeze. I had swept the deck after all of the sweeping of my roof this week though it was hard to tell today. I finally got that leak fixed which has been plaguing me since the tree fell on the house. Working on the roof took a lot of sweeping and then each time I was done the breeze would kick up and bring down my needles. The rain kicked me off before I got the last bit done but, luckily, the rain is to cease and fine roof working weather will return soon. Another couple days and I will get all of the repairs done. I figured after all the patching I would simply recover the entire roof. That took longer than I would have thought. But the patches required were extensive. I had to cut down to the rafters and build my way back up in over a dozen places. This was the reason for re-covering the entire roof. Just like the snail on the side of the well I move two steps forward and one and half backward. I am making progress though :) Until next week stay well, 73, Kevin.
