I just sent a new version of K3 firmware to everyone who reported a problem with HRD and K3 revision 3.41.
Turns out that HRD (Ham Radio Deluxe, a PC software app) polls for sub receiver status periodically, even if one isn't installed, which can result in long timeout delays. In the new revision, the status command is still allowed at any time, but it won't cause timeouts.
