Slightly OT, but when it comes to processors, there's no way I'd use a thermal pad.
A thin layer of Arctic Silver is a far better heat conductor than any thermal pad available. I see no downside to using AS on any FET apart from the potential mess, but the trick is to use a small amount. A little goes a long way with that stuff.
