Gary, it's likely a COM port issue. First, K3Voice "uses up" the COM port when it is running, so no other program can access the K3 using the same COM port. Close K3Voice before attempting to connect with the K3 Utility.
The K3 Utility will need to use the same COM port that you're using with K3 Voice. The Port tab contains a button labeled "Test Communications" that may be used to verify connectivity. When successful, a popup occurs that indicates the connection was made. Until then, the K3 Utility will "poll" the selected COM port. Polling status is displayed in the program's title bar. 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Gary Lee Sent: Thursday, May 06, 2010 6:24 PM To: elecraft list Subject: [Elecraft] k3 utility problem Just added the kfl3 to my k3. Can't get k3 utility to communicate with the k3. However, k3voice works fine. Still using the same old edgeport I've always used, no software changes to the pc that I can think of. How can I test further? ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
