Michael - Early XV144 transverters had a 5A resettable fuse and I note from the latest manual that this has been replaced with an 8A resettable fuse. Also, the later XV144 has ventilation holes in the top and bottom covers.
I had a similar problem in that my XV144 cut out while transmitting and could only be reset by powering down and then applying power again. I replaced the original 5A fuse with an 8A and drilled holes like those in the XV432 and later XV144. I also added a fan and drilled holes in the PCB similar to those in the XV432. My XV144 now runs much cooler and does not cut out like it did before. 73 de David G4DMP In a recent message, DL5OCD <metamo...@t-online.de> wrote ... >i wondering if that is normal: when i transmit 20 sec. on FM at 15W, the >transverter stops transmitting (no power output).
