Thanks for your interesting posting about the possiblity of achieving what AERLO achieves, but with just one count.

I've copied that posting, to check it out.

But let me briefly comment now: It isn't as if AERLO requires two ballotings--it's just two counts, and that won't take a significant amount of time. So if the properties of a rank method with AERLO had to be significantly compromised in order to just use one count, it wouldn't be worth it, because two counts aren't any trouble.

On the other hand, if all the properties can be preserved, with just one count, of course that would be an efficiency improvement. But would it be as simple to describe to the public as Condorcet with AERLO, ERIRV with AERLO, or Bucklin with AERLO?
