There was some mention here earlier about the pairwise voting system that
the Debian Project (http://www.debian.org) uses to choose their Project
Leader. The preliminary election results have been announced, so I thought
I'd post them here in case anyone is interested. It's not often that we
have *actual* election data from a pairwise count to analyse! Apply your
favourite counting method and let us know if you find anything interesting.

Choice #5: Further Discussion

The winner is Wichert, followed by Ben, Joel, Matthew and finally, Further
Discussion.

These results have not been checked against the hand count but I thought
you'd all like the exit poll results ;)

As you can see, the Debian Project's voters must have approved of the choice
of candidates, since "Further Discussion" was the Condorcet Loser. The
incumbent (Wichert Akkerman) was the Condorcet Winner by a fairly wide
margin.
