According to Conventional Wisdom, responding to 
the "remove" address in spam (junk email) is more 
likely to confirm that your addresss is still 
active, and encourage more spam.  And it does 
seem unlikely that anyone who dumps trash in 
other people's mail boxes is really going to 
respect your wishes about dumping more trash in 
your mail box. 

However, in this case, responses are going to 
this list instead of the spammer, so we all get 
to read them, but the spammer doesn't.
