When trying to build Electric in the past, I saw that broken IDE issue too
when Apache took over Netbeans. Many of the plugins that were used for
building Electric seemed to not get ported over from the older Sun Oracle
versions.

End up using Eclipse instead to build it as I recall. It been awhile since
I did it, but it looks like the instructions can still be found in a past
post to this group in the file named "Eclipse-GNU-Electric.pdf" at [1].

Hi, I'm Sebastiano Viti, I'm studying electronic engineering and I would
like to make some changes to the source code of electric VLSI. I tried to
follow the tutorial that was written in the README but I ran into some
problems. I couldn't find the team server plugin, perhaps because I'm using
a too recent version of netbeans, but the recommended version 7 is not a
version available on the netbeans download site, as it is a pre Apache
version. If I try to build the project in netbeans I get the error: unable
to execute org.scala-tools:maven-scala-plugin.

Can you give me some advice on how to work on this project? I also tried
with intellij idea but when I run the electric main of the directory
trunk/electric... it doesn't find some dependencies and is unable to
initialize the graphical interface.

I hope the project has not been abandoned and that you can help me. Thanks
in advance!!
