I forgot to add that the work is available as "elementary-scan" package from ppa:shnatsel/elementary-simple-scan<https://code.launchpad.net/~shnatsel/+archive/elementary-simple-scan> Right now it's a little bit behind the times, but should catch up with bzr in a few hours. I'll move the package to elementary Daily PPA when it clears UX team review.
