With a lot of help from Dodji I fixed all issues found. g++ 4.5 is indeed stricter and in one case the spec itself actually got fixed to disallow what we were doing: http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg21/docs/cwg_defects.html#147 Hopefully the commit messages explain why the changes were necessary. OK to merge the mjw/gcc45 branch to the dwarf branch?
