The problem is that I am unable to record anything. I have un-muted the mic and set other settings using alsamixer. I am able to play a wav file using aplay but arecord doesn't seem to work. Another team reported that they faced the same issue on another board so chances of wrong setup or damaged hardware are minimal. arecord in verbose mode shows input levels to be 0% at all times. Kindly see my steps below and correct me if I am doing something wrong.
