I had the same effect using a lab power supply (5 V, 5 A). With an
inexpensive 5 V 2 A power supply everthing is ok.
interesting! perhaps the bench suppy had current limiting enabled at a low
setting?

Hi Dave,
current limit was set to the maximum. Maybe there was a ground loop as
the lab power supply has a protective earth conductor and the
Minnowboard is also connected to protective earth via a KVMP switch and
the PC.
