I can see three ways to do that (some simpler and cleaner than others
though):
1) Trigger a re-scan using the dbus API. This is Linux-specific though.
Try the following command in a terminal:
dbus-send --dest=com.fluendo.Elisa
/com/fluendo/Elisa/Plugins/Database/MediaScanner
com.fluendo.Elisa.Plugins.Database.MediaScanner.start
2) Wait for 24 hours or change the "scan_every" parameter in the
[database.media_scanner:MediaScanner] section of the configuration file.
3) The most hackish method: in Pictures/Photo Library/Folders/Add
Folders, un-check and then re-check the containing folder.
