Hi Stephan, 1 minute is quite long indeed.
An obvious way to improve the startup time is disabling all the unnecessary plugins, to prevent elisa loading them. This can be achieved in the configuration file (look for the 'disabled_plugins' entry in the [general] section, it accepts a list of strings like e.g. ['elisa-plugin-wmd']). If you are willing to try and profile elisa's startup time, we'll gladly use your feedback (be warned, we don't really have easy tools for this...).
