Incidentally, and it's probably something you can't
control, the output line telling that this might take a while doesn't
get output until it's done..... minor thing....

We did look at it but were unable to effect a solution, at least in the
parts of the process we control. It's probably an issue that should be
reported upstream to the maintainers of yum.
