I have placed a request for help on this list already and received no response. I really, really don't want to buy into Microsoft, but i am, so far, unable to achieve the functionality I need from linux. I am an embedded programmer/engineer of 20 years experience, so i am very capable. My current requirement is to get a Leadtek WinFast TV USB II Deluxe device working with Kubuntu. It appears to be installed correctly, but I cannot get a TV channel in any application. If I am barking up the wrong tree with this hardware please tell me. New Zealand is moving to DVB-S first and then DVB-T in some areas. I will go with DVB-S soon, but that only has a few channels. DVB-T is about a year out for me and again will start with limited channels, so I need good old analogue TV for the time being. If the tuner I have is unsuitable I will try to sell on trademe/ebay and get something that works. Any suggestions on the best PCI (preferably) or USB tuner for PAL B/G most welcome. Tks Colin.
