No Menion, I don't think it's an issue limited to Ubuntu, I use also Puppylinux, which comes with an alsa version 1.015rc2 on a kernel 2.6.21.7, and I have in both cases the same module loading problems...We have come to the conclusion that the problem comes when you try to load the module on a system with an alsa that doesn't match the original alsa included with the kernel, but we haven't found a solution to this yet, maybe it's recompiling alsa with some strange options.... I am almost giving up, I think I'll wait for an Ubuntu or Puppy release that will sport an updated kernel with a native alsa at least 1.0.15 (my laptop needs it to make the realtek alc268 audio chip work), so I won't have to modify nothing.
