Hi Markus
thanks for the info. I guess I'll return it and have to browse ebay.
The annoying thing is that the "900H" is only written on the actual
device. It's not on the package or anywhere the web shop. I guess I'll
have to start bringing a laptop into the store just for checking
product/vendor ids. speaking of which, it would be great if there
would be a wiki page with supported em28xx-based devices and their
respective vendor/product id. (I've found the ids in the hg repos,
but that's not for everyone, especially if you don't already know that
your device happens to be em28xxx-based).
Best,
Matthias

I've just bought a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 900H. Its it has vendorId

nor in google (ok, a single opensuse forum post asking for help).
Does anyone have information about this?
The more stringent question, does it contain an em28xx chipset? If
yes, I
assume there a chance that it could work (with limited amount of
work). If
not, I guess I'll have to see if it runs in a VM or bring it back
and again
try to buy an old one on eBay.
There's a quite good list of supported devices on mcentral.de, this
device however is not em28xx based.
You probably have to look for such devices without the H.
