This is now done, and all tests are passing. You mentioned makefile changes; I didn't see any in the merge. I'm running on Window 8.1 64 bit; I tested with a 64 bit Mingw build of Emacs 25. I'll test with emacs 24.5, .4, .3, .2 next. You mentioned problems running the tests; what OS are you on, and what problems are you having?
