Someone else reported something similar. I am unable to replicate it, but run a Debian "testing" distribution, which might have some compiler or library differences. The only things I can suggest are: - run "autoconf" - try configuring according to nextstep/compile, then run "make clean" followed by "make bootstrap" in the top-level directory.
