Let me give Adrian a rest, a small howto Get latest bzr repo as tarball: http://cekirdek.pardus.org.tr/~ismail/tmp/emacs.app.tar.bz2 (351mb) Unpack. cd emacs.app/nextstep On line 158 of "compile" file you'll see a line like $MAKE modify it to read $MAKE bootstrap and now run ./compile , when it finished you can move build/Emacs.app folder under /Applications and run from there. You can update with bzr pull later on.
