In my previous ielm run, I somehow managed to misunderstand `compile-defun', but anyway, the message appears after:
`emacs -Q', `M-x ielm RET' and: *** Welcome to IELM *** Type (describe-mode) for help. ELISP> (load "bytecomp") t ELISP> (load "~/longlines.elc") t ELISP> It does not appear without (load "bytecomp").
