Sure. But "quite unlikely" is not "imposible".

Well, I use MS Windows and most of my files are ASCII, Latin-1,
Latin-9, a few UTF-8. Other than the .REG ones, I'm not aware of any
files that I use frequently (system files or other) which are encoded
as UTF-16.
