It's absolutely a much more pleasant experience than article, at least if you agree with the KOMA-guys' margin opinion (e.g. top:bottom margin is fixed at 1:2). [I've been using the KOMA-bundle for years and years]. The patch is also subjective, e.g. it does not feature \minisec[.]{.}. ox-koma-article.el would be awesome but until then, there's no point in adding it.
