I find it reasonably straightforward to simply add the following line to
my beamer org files:
#+latex_header:
\AtBeginSection[]{\begin{frame}<beamer>\frametitle{Topic}\tableofcontents[currentsection,hideothersubsections]\end{frame}}
so no need to play with the elisp code...
