Known problem in latest versions of Emacs with extended faces (hl-line face is one such face). If you customize the face and remove the :extend property, everything is fine in terms of the cursor but, of course, the face will no longer extend across the window. -- Eric S Fraga via Emacs 27.0.50, Org release_9.2.6-552-g8c5a78
