The profile shows that bottleneck is undo-fu-session. Even if org-element-cache is the cause, it should be some strange interaction with other external packages. org-element-cache itself does not change buffer text. If anything, the new code should change buffer text properties less than before because some of the older cache logic is moved from using text properties to using org-element-cache. Best, Ihor
