my gmail interface is highly inaccessible, so i hope this goes
through. i am not sure if the subject headers are reasonable; they
cannot be edited.

emacs 30.1
org 9.7.31

    ;; auto-fill-mode off, visual-line-fill-column-mode on,
    ;; visual-wrap-prefix-mode on. a highly useful combination.

two bugs that are possibly related, possibly unrelated:

1] the below bt that emacs asked me to submit. intermittent.

2] as a heads up, upgrading to this version of org has caused a rise
in folding glitches. now, list actions, includign creating a new list
item, can intermittently and brokenly [e.g. in middle of headings]
fold headings, making it necessary to go up levels and toggle folding,
then remember what the canonical folding scheme was and restore it,
then remember where one was and search for it to place point. these
glitches are intermittent.

undo-tree [Version: 0.8.2] might or might not be related -- merely
toggling undoing does not get one knowingly back to where one was.

i realize this second bug is likely not actionable, but i hope it helps.

the org version i upgraded from, with more minor and less frequentl
folding, is unknown due to my ignorance of git, but the dir has mtime
of 03-13.

here is the bt for the first bug:
