On Worg I think we should strive to support libre alternatives but
permit ourselves a degree of latitude/convenience.

I'm all for experimenting with alternative frontends to Reddit and
YouTube, but I'd like to hear more thoughts before changing Github
links.

Does anyone use Github via Gothub and know of any annoyances or missing
functionality? It ought to be frictionless to get from Worg to code you
want to try out. As long as e.g. the Emacs package manager cites Github
links for Github projects, we might be forgiven for doing so too.

For all these alternatives we'd need to pick instances, and possibly
change them every so often if they become defunct. Presumably we should
also avoid instances that use Cloudflare, which narrows the choices down
a bit. Here are instance listings; recommendations welcome!

Invidious: https://docs.invidious.io/instances/
Gothub: https://codeberg.org/gothub/gothub#user-content-instances
Redlib: https://www.mujico.org/post/83177

Maybe we should replace hard links with a set of youtube:, github:, and
reddit: link types that we can update in one place so they always point
to the currently selected instances? (A separate githubgist: type might
also be needed.)

Yours,
Christian
