Because its only happening in an org-mode file!

I copy the text from a web-page and paste it into the org-mode file, and it
then shows up with lots of light blue things like ^Y.

The kill-ring with the relevant text I've just copied doesn't have these
artefacts when looked at in the kill-ring buffer, but when its pasted into the
org-mode file they appear!

Thanks
  Sharon.
