Not having Elisp skills is not a problem.
You can still help with confirming bug reports, and even with light
patch review (see Beginner-friendly review steps in
https://orgmode.org/worg/org-contribute.html#patch-review)

We also have a backlog of bug reports and patches that were fixed but
need to be marked for the bug tracker (or I need to be pinged if the
report slipped through the cracks). See
https://tracker.orgmode.org/?page=24, for example.
That should be very easy once you figure how to reply to old emails.

You can find detailed instructions about how to deal with bug reports,
patches, and how to reply to old emails on the list in
https://orgmode.org/worg/org-maintenance.html#liaison

Also, do you know how many emails per month you want to commit to?
4 emails per month (= 1 per week) can be a good trial to see if you feel
comfortable. Or you can try first and commit later.
