This FR was derived from a BUG (rough summary: it's difficult to have
side-by-side images exported to different backends). The thread has been
inactive for 3 years now.
I still can reproduce the behavior described by the OP in
- Org mode version 9.7.11 (release_9.7.11 @
/usr/local/share/emacs/30.1/lisp/org/)
- GNU Emacs 30.1 (build 2, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.24.33, cairo
version 1.16.0) of 2025-04-16
Jean Luois proposed a solution, but my skills are too basic to try to
implement them in a patch.
Ihor: what should we do with this thread and with the alternative
proposed by Jean Louis?
