That's a joke. In the substance, both views make sense. Just for
different groups of users. As could be seen from the polls.
Remember that the notes are for 2 month-old meetup.
As for now, you submitted a smaller patch and we are discussing it. I
did not yet look into the latest iteration.

You do not need to convince me that supporting buffer locals is
useful. I never disputed that.  It is one of the multiple configuration
approaches we should support. But there are also others.
