Thanks, I didn't know about those.

The data represent an appointment, and include its:

- summary/title
- start date or date-time
- duration (maybe; if present, it implies an end date/time)
- location (maybe)
- URL (maybe)

The most important thing is to get that start date(-time) into
org-capture-plist's :default-time so that "%T" and friends expand to it
in the template.

These data are collected from an email message composed by the user and
the user has already had a chance to verify/edit them, so it would be
annoying to have to enter or confirm them again manually during the
capture process.

Looking more closely at how org-capture works, I see I can't expect to
put stuff into org-capture-plist myself, because that's overwritten by
the capture template entry at the beginning of org-capture. But there
are a variety of variables I can let-bind, e.g. org-capture-initial,
org-overriding-default-time, and org-capture-link-is-already-stored. So
that's probably the right approach...?

Thanks,
Richard
