I ran these commands to change permissions: sudo chmod u=rw ~/.cache/org-persist/gc-lock.eld sudo chmod g=rw ~/.cache/org-persist/gc-lock.eld
This did not solve the problem. When exiting emacs (C-x C-c), it still gives this warning. Without any response, emacs closes after a few seconds. This problem appears only on my new Mac (M4 Pro on Golden Gate 27). My old Mac (Intel Mac mini on Sequoia 15), closes smoothly. I think the proper solution is to just fix the access to that file. That file should usually be owned by your user and have mode 0600. Can you check the ownership and permissions on the lock file? ls -l ~/.cache/org-persist/gc-lock.eld The other possibility might be MacOS file access shenanigans. I ran into those a lot with more recent versions of MacOS but I've since moved to a Windows/WSL setup so I can't validate. I took a quick look at the code for org-persist-gc but I'm not sure why it would close without waiting for the prompt. Upgrade (using MacPorts) went smoothly. However, when exiting (C-x C-c), emacs displays above warning and asks if I want to proceed (y or n). Without any response, emacs closes after a few seconds. What setup changes are needed to stop this warning?
