As a side note: The function `org-indent-mode' should have a more informative docstring, and IMO the mode/file are a bit misleading in general. The idea of org-indent is to provide visual indentation and to omit "real" indentation. So maybe `org-visual-indentation-mode' and `org-visual-indent.el' would be a bit more explanatory...
